Amber Diagnostics, an Orlando-based distributor of used medical radiology equipment, has created a separate parts division that now can be searched through the company's Web site, http://www.AMBERUSA.com.
The move was made in response to the dramatic growth of the radiology parts market. Customers now can search online for items such as circuit boards, relay switches, image intensifiers and software from a range of manufacturers.
"We've provided miscellaneous parts to a wide variety of service organizations, private physicians and hospitals throughout the United States since 1993," says Bobby Serros, the 10-year-old company's president and CEO. "However, these services were provided on a very loose platform. More and more of our clients requested that we supply them with a proper list of the parts we have in stock so searches could be performed faster."
Organizing the parts and supply division of Amber Diagnostics is an ongoing process, says Serros, who adds that the online search engine took almost a year to coordinate.
"We have more than 50,000 individual parts in inventory at any given time, so we had to be sure we were putting an organizational process in place that would work in the long run," says Serros.
Amber remanufactures medical equipment such as CT scanners, mammography machines, bone densitometers and X-ray rooms.
